Hello Models
Welcome to your Fourth Judging session.
This week you were partnered with another model and together you need to come up with two photos to reflect the good and evil. Let's see your photos
Matt (Good) & Alex (Evil)
Natalia: Aww.. You're playing with dices. I'm not sure how's that relate to the goodness, but it works for me. I love the smile and tenderness in your expression. I don't like the fact that you wear a singlet again but overall I love it.
Jared: I love this photo. I love your smile and you're just casually playing dice. It is hard I know to fit a theme like this and working with a partner, but I think you're doing a good job here. You look like a guy having fun and his wife snapped this shot. That's the feeling I'm getting.
Gwen: As Natalie said, I definitely feel tenderness from you in this shot. As you said in your description, the smile does feel very natural and it's endearing. The lightness of the setting and the color scheme works well with the theme and while the dice are a little random, it adds a little story to the picture, too.
And Jared, Matt Bomer is openly gay, so it would have been his husband who snapped the shot.
Natalia: I love your photo. Very haunting and evil. I love the smirk in your eyes. Great photo, Alex. The setting is creepy and it does inject the 'evil' vibe in this photo more.
Jared: This. Is. Amazing. I have no other words at how good this is for evil and a modeling game at that.
Gwen: Overall, great photo this week. I love your stance; it's almost a predatory stance. The tongue makes it feel a little too light-hearted for me, but then you grabbing the hair of a dead girl takes away the innocence of the look on your face. The setting does add some nice depth to the photo, too.
Andrew (Good) & Bradley (Evil)
Natalia: I'm not so sure what happened to your hair here because it's too bright. Same with the setting too. But I do love the styling in this photo and your face expression does indicate the goodness in your soul. I'm just a little bit distracting with the lighting and brightness in this photo.
Jared: My only issue and i'll get it out of the way is your expression, seems a bit evil lol Now moving on. I like this. I like the bright happy feeling it's giving off. A merry go round ride is exactly what makes kids happy right? And lots of yellow. I understand what Natalia is saying about it being too bright, but I get your reasoning, so good job.
Gwen: I actually really like this photo and I like that you were willing to play around and experiment. When I look at this photo, I really feel like I know who you are as a person and that you're just a really good guy. To me, that fits the theme really well when it's not just you portraying "good", but embodying "good". I was actually nervous that you were going to go the Spiderman route this week and as much as I love Spiderman, I'm really happy you didn't. I'm fine with how bright it is and I love the playfulness of the photo. Great job this week.
Natalia: I love the way you move in this photo. I love the energy and I am convince by the glare in your eyes. So devilish. Nice styling too. Overall, this is so fun. Good job
Jared: Your expression sells it. I like this, and I like your connection with the camera. Good job.
Gwen: I can't help but smile when I see this photo. I love your eyes once again this week and the expression on your face is priceless. While there are some "evil" elements to this photo, it doesn't scream "evil" to me. However, the expression is great and works well with the theme, and I love the action in this shot. Despite being a studio shot, this is nowhere near dull. You've definitely piqued my interest with this photo and I love it.
Dylan (Good) & Nicholas (Evil)
Natalia: I love the fact that both of you chose to submit a black and white photo so we can see the uniformity in both photos. I think you can play more with your expression, but I do love the message from the shirt. Simple but captivating enough for me.
Jared: I like this photo and I like the saying on the shirt. I'm not sure exactly how I feel in regards to the theme, but the picture is good.
Gwen: I have to agree with Jared, I don't really see the connection to the theme this week It helps you a bit that you're baby-faced and that adds a bit of good and innocence to the picture, but beyond that, it's hard to really see much to comment on. This almost looks just like a random picture some kid had taken of himself.
Natalia: Gorgeous photo. I see a bad boy but evil? Not so much. But I do like the modeling value in this photo. You look so confident and dashing in this photo. The attitude is there but it's not enough for me.
Jared: I agree this is gorgeous but I don't see evil at all except maybe the B&W. You look like you're smizing. Not that evil people can't smile, but it's a cute smize lol Not evil. Good picture though.
Gwen: In terms of modeling, this picture is great. In terms of theme-relation, this picture is okay. As the other judges have already commented, this picture is at "bad boy" but not quite at "evil".
Michael (Good) & Gareth (Evil)
Natalia: Thank you for listen to our advice. I think this photo is just okay. I'm not convince by your goodness here. I do like the styling, but I think there are lot of things that you can explore in order to convince us that you're the good person in a photo.
Jared: I can see good because I think you look like the boy next door. You make me think artist when I look at you. It's a gorgeous photo. But doesn't completely hit the nail on the head.
Gwen: I swear I was thinking "Boy Next Door" before I read what Jared wrote. Anyway, that's about all this photo has going for in in terms of theme-relation and that's something that you normally have because of how you naturally look. However, I will say that I do appreciate you taking my note about showing a different angle this week.
Natalia: Usually, I'm not a fan of a photo with the dark lighting but I like how it in here. I think it's very symbolic to the evilness. My issue is with your eyes because we barely see the eyes connection here. So it's 50-50 to me.
Jared: The darkness works for me. The naked torso, the grim expression. I like this, and not knowing what your partner was submitting must have been really hard. Good job.
Gwen: I absolutely love this photo. As much as I normally like to see someone's eyes, the fact that we can barely see them in this photo helps with the theme this week. Not just the picture itself, but you are so dark this week. You embody evil in this shot and I love that. Fantastic week for you, in my opinion.
Justin (Good) & Taecyeon (Evil)
Natalia: I do see a hero here but my problem is the connection between you and the camera. I don't feel the connection here. I love the props and the outfit. I like some parts of this photo but the other parts, not so much.
Jared: I see hero. I love your props and outfit. The pose is a bit lifeless. And I wish you were looking at the camera, but otherwise, not a bad job.
Gwen: You went the more obvious route this week with your hero shot and it's a quick and easy way to reach the theme you were given. The pose is fine with me since you look strong in it and that strength looks like the strength of a protector. However, when I see this shot, I'm just left wanting more. More connection to you or more movement in the shot. It just feels very static.
Natalia: I love it. From the styling, eye rolls, and the makeup, I am convince that you're the evil person. I think your expression is so strong this week. My only issue is with your mouth. A little bit stiff but overall, this is a great week for you.
Jared: I think this is really great. I love the expression on your face like "pfft wtf ever man!" The makeup is good too. Good job!
Gwen: I love this picture; I definitely got the evil vibe from you. I know you're of a different nationality, but you look like a member of the Yakuza to me. The make-up and the hair are done perfectly and I love your expression. The mouth doesn't bother me at all.
